With Android Beam you can send content such as contacts, video, browser pages and more to devices that have Near Field Communication (NFC).

To turn the Android Beam ON or OFF, follow the next steps:

1. From the Home screen, press Menu.
2. Go to Settings -> More Settings -> tap the NFC box to turn it on if necessary -> select Android Beam -> now you have to tap the Android Beam slider to enable it or disable it. When enabled, the switch turns green, when disabled it turns gray.

Near Field Communication – Read tag

You can also read NFC tag information from another phone or device that has NFC, or you can read the info from a printed tag. To do that, follow the next steps:

1. Turn on your NFC and make sure that the other handset has the tag sharing enabled.
2. Now place the back of your Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G against the Near Field Communication antenna of the other handset, or against the printed tag.
3. You will hear a notification sound when your handset has read the tag successfully.

You can receive the following tag categories with NFC:

- Video and Pictures
- Music files
- Contact tags
- URL tags

To Use S-Beam

You can turn on S Beam to share contacts, music files, web pages and images and video with other NFC or Wi-Fi Direct handsets. But keep in mind that S Beam is compatible only with other devices that have S Beam.

If you want to share media files with S Beam, you should enable tag sharing on the other handset. In addition, to make sure you will get the best results, navigate the receiving device to its Home screen before proceeding with the transfer.

To share media with S Beam, you have to:

1. Tap the Menu key from your Home screen.
2. Go to Settings -> More Settings -> S Beam -> Enable the S Beam slider – the switch will turn green when enabled.
3. Now you have to navigate to and open the file that you want to share:

- if you want to share contacts, go to Contacts
- for music, go to the Music player app
- for web pages you need to access the Internet app.
- for videos and images you need to access Gallery.

4. After selecting the file that you want to share, place the back of your Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G against the NFC antenna of the other handset. Usually, most of the phones need to be placed back-to-back.
5. On your Home screen you should see a message saying Touch to Beam. You should touch and hold the thumbnail until you see it disappear, or until you see the message Ready to send files via S Beam. Separate devices.
6. After you see that message, separate the phones.
7. If you sent a Contact, you should select an account storage location on the other device and if you sent a music file, you should tap Sound Player or Play Music on the other device.

Congratulations, you’ve learned how to use Android Beam!
