If your smartphone is experiencing a low battery life, you can modify some settings and disable some features which should help improve the battery life.

First off, you should start lowering the backlight brightness and backlight timing:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps -> Settings -> Tap Display -> Select Brightness -> tap to check or uncheck the Automatic brightness setting as desired -> if you decide to uncheck Automatic brightness, then tap and drag the slider to your desired brightness level and tap OK when finished.
    2. From the Home screen, tap Apps -> Settings –> Display -> Screen timeout -> choose the lowest comfortable setting (15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, etc).

Using a live wallpaper will also drain the battery life faster. To change the wallpaper:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps -> Settings -> Display -> scroll to and tap Wallpaper -> select the wallpaper location that you want to use (Home screen, Lock screen, Home and lock screen) -> tap Wallpapers -> select the wallpaper that you want to use and tap Set wallpaper.

Having your smartphone connected to an available Wi-Fi can extend the battery life for up to 50%. However, if you’re not using actively Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS, you should always turn the settings OFF, as having them ON, but not using them, will drain the battery life faster.

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps -> Settings -> Make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sliders are turned OFF.
    2. Tap More Settings -> turn NFC to OFF.
    3. Tap Mobile networks -> Connections optimizer and make sure Connections optimizer is checked.
    4. Tap and drag the notifications bar to disable GPS -> tap the GPS icon to disable it.

To further improve the battery life, you should stop the apps running in the background.

    1. From the Home screen, press and hold the Home key.
    2. Tap and drag to the left or right the app that you want to close.
    3. To close all apps you have to tap the Task manager icon.
    4. Tap End if you want to close only specific apps, or tap End all if you want to close all of them.

Set your smartphone to sync less often:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Under Accounts select the account type that you want to sync less.
    4. Tap to check or uncheck the sync options that you prefer.

    Turn off vibrate notifications:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings -> Sound -> uncheck Sound and vibration.
    3. If you want to turn vibrate on/off for the system -> tap to uncheck Haptic feedback.

    Turning Power Saving ON:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings -> turn Power saving mode to ON.

Charging the handset regularly will maximize the battery life and in addition to all of the above settings, you can also download a Battery Defender app from the Play Store, which will help conserve the battery life further.
