Transferring Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect your smartphone to your PC via USB
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- In the auto-run window, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer". (Otherwise, navigate to your phone's storage manually)
- Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the audio files are located on your PC
- Copy the files and paste them onto your phone's storage
- Once finished, safely disconnect your smartphone
Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
- If necessary, use your Mac's Internet browser to visit samsung.com/kies and download Kies for Mac OS
- Once Kies is installed, connect your smartphone to your Mac via USB
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device"
- Open Kies and click the "Folder" icon associated with either "Internal memory" or "External memory"
- Navigate to where the desired audio files are on your computer, and drag them into Kies
- After the files have been copied, disconnect your handset from your Mac
Adding Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings" and "Sound" under the "My device" tab
- Tap "Ringtones" > "Add"
- Select either "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
- Select "Just once" or "Always"
- Choose what audio files you wish to add and tap "OK"
Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:
- Press the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Tap "My files" > "All files"
- Navigate to where the audio files are located
- Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
- Select "Device storage", go to the "Notifications" folder and tap "Paste here"
Changing the Notifications Sound:
- Press the "Menu" key while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "My device", tap "Sound"
- Select "Notifications"
- Choose the desired notification sound and tap "OK" to assign it
Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:
- Press "Menu" on the home screen
- Tap "Settings" > "Sound"
- Select "Ringtones"
- Tap the ringtone that you want to assign and press "OK" to confirm
Changing the Ringtone for One Contact:
NOTE: you can't assign custom ringtones to contacts that are saved on your SIM card or your phone's internal storage
- Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
- Select the desired contact
- Press the "Edit" icon (depicting a pencil)
- Tap "Ringtone"
- Select the ringtone that you want to assign to the contact
- Tap "OK" to confirm
- Press "Save"
