Enabling and Managing Battery Saving Mode:

  1. From any home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to the "General" tab
  3. Tap the switch associated with "Power saving mode" and set it to "ON"
  4. To customize how the mode works, tap "Power saving mode"
  5. Mark or clear the check boxes associated with "CPU power saving", "Screen power saving" and / or "Turn off haptic feedback". NOTE: when an option is checked, it will enable itself once the power saving mode kicks in

Adjusting the Screen Brightness and Lowering the Timeout Duration:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap the "Display" tab and select "Brightness"
  4. Clear the check box next to "Automatic brightness"
  5. Drag the brightness slider to a lower level (left) but leave your screen visible
  6. Tap "OK" > "Screen timeout"
  7. Select a lower timeout delay, such as "15 seconds"

Disabling Your Live Wallpaper:

In general, live wallpapers can greatly affect battery life, usually based on how graphically intensive they are. It's a good idea to disable your live wallpapers, and if you want to further conserve battery life, use a black / dark wallpaper instead.

  1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Set wallpaper" and select "Home screen"
  3. Choose either "Gallery" or "Wallpaper"
  4. Browse for the desired image and tap "Set wallpaper". If you're picking from the gallery app, you'll have to drag / resize / crop the image and press "Done"

Disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot and GPS:

Connectivity features are usually the most battery demanding features of a phone. As such, it's always advised to disable them while not in use, especially GPS.

  1. From the home screen, tap "Menu"
  2. Tap "Settings" and touch the "Connections" tab
  3. Press "More networks" > "Tethering & Mobile HotSpot"
  4. Tap the switch next to "Mobile HotSpot" and set it to "OFF"
  5. Return to the home screen and drag the "Status" bar down
  6. Tap the switches associated with "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "GPS" to disable these features. NOTE: a grayed out color means the option is disabled.

Disabling Background Data:

  1. Press "Menu" while on a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" > "Connections"
  3. Select "Data usage"
  4. Press the "Menu" key
  5. Mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"

Changing the Application Sync Settings:

  1. Press the "Menu" button while on a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to the "General" tab
  3. Select an account type under "My accounts"
  4. Tap the "user name" or "email address" field at the top of the screen to adjust the sync settings
  5. You can tap each category to mark or clear the check boxes associated with it, and enable / disable syncing
  6. You can also tap to increase the interval time for when the sync occurs (30 minutes, 1 hour etc.)

Minimizing the Use of Third Party Apps:

  1. From a home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "Settings" and access the "General" tab
  3. Tap "Application manager"
  4. Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap "Disable" to turn off the app, or "Uninstall" to remove it completely. NOTE: pre-loaded apps cannot be uninstalled
  7. Tap "OK" to confirm

Using 2G Connectivity Instead of 4G:

  1. While on a home screen, press "Menu"
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to "Connections"
  3. Tap "More networks" > "Mobile networks" > "Mobile mode"
  4. Tap "GSM only"
  5. To return to 4G, tap "LTE / WCDMA / GSM (auto connect)" or "WCDMA / GSM (auto connect)"

Updating to the Most Recent Firmware Available:

NOTE: This tip works only if there's a new software update available that can fix potential battery life issues on your Galaxy Round. Otherwise, following the steps below will have no effect on your phone's battery performance.

  1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap the "General" tab > "About device" > "Software updates"
  4. If there's a new firmware available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it
