Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

You can use iTunes to transfer contacts from an iPhone to the Galaxy Beam 2, by first syncing the contacts with a Google account. Synced contacts include the contact image, address, email and any other contact notes. For this method of transfer, you are required to have access to a computer with Internet and iTunes installed.

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to iTunes using the USB cable
  3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it and go to the device's summary page
  4. Access the "info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. Enter your Google account username and password. Alternatively, click "Configure" to select a previously added Google account
  7. Click "Apply" and allow iTunes to sync the contacts
  8. On the Samsung Galaxy Beam 2, register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes. NOTE: if you need to add an account, access the phone's "Settings" menu and go to "Accounts"
  9. Allow Google to sync contacts with your Android device

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

iCloud can be used to transfer contacts from an iPhone to an Android device, by signing in with your iCloud account and exporting the backed up contacts in the form of a vCard file. If you've used the iCloud service before, your contacts should be already backed up. For this approach, you need access to a computer with Internet.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account and click "Contacts"
  3. Choose the contacts that you wish to export
  4. Click the cog wheel icon located in the lower-left side and select "Export vCard"
  5. A VCF file will be downloaded on your computer
  6. Import the VCF file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, connect the Galaxy Beam 2 to your PC via USB and copy the vCard file in the "sdcard" directory. Next, open the "People" application and press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card". If necessary, select an account and the desired vCard file

Transferring Contacts using "My Contacts Backup":

If you don't have access to a computer, you can still transfer your contacts using third party applications such as "My Contacts Backup". This is an iOS app that can be used to back up all of your iPhone contacts, and export them via email. To do so:

  1. Go to the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup". This will create a backup file containing your contacts
  3. After the file is created, tap "Email" to attach the file to a new email
  4. Send the email with the attachment to your own Gmail address
  5. On the Samsung Galaxy Beam 2, open the email containing the vCard file, and download it in order to import its contents using the "People" app

Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:

Another application (this time for both iOS and Android) that can be used for transferring contacts from an iPhone to the Galaxy Beam 2, is "Send Anywhere". This app uses a P2P connection to perform file transfers, so a computer is not required.

  1. Launch the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on your Samsung Galaxy Beam 2
  2. Launch the App Store and download the same app on the iPhone
  3. Open the app on both smartphones
  4. Tap "Send" on the iPhone, and tap "Contacts"
  5. Mark the contacts that you wish to transfer
  6. Tap "Send" and select a transfer method. You can tap "Receive" on the Samsung smartphone, and enter the transfer code to commence the contact transfer. Alternatively, you can tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone, and scan the code with the Beam 2's camera.
