GT-S3570 getting started guide/manual

I've got a new GT-S3570 Note, and am desperate for some sort of getting started guide.
Samsung so called manuals contain nothing to get you started, Support is even worse. The only thing I can find is a mini guide that came with the phone and identical pdf guide on the internet, it is completely useless. First off the phone says T-Mobile and I'm on Orange, second it lost all my contacts because I couldn't find out whether to say yes or no to initial question which I couldn't escape from. Can't find settings! What is Idle mode etc etc. I've searched and searched the internet and can't find anything about anything. This is just dire. I wish I'd never bought the thing :-(

Er, the S3570 is the Samsung Chat, not a Note. There's a big difference. Have you seen the manual located here? GT-S3570 - DOWNLOADS | SUPPORT | SAMSUNG

Thanks for the reply. Sorry that was a silly typo fueled by my anger. I'm afraid The pdf you point me to is the very one that I have received twice from Samsung, and it doesn't answer *any* of the getting started questions of the type I posed above :-(

I'm not sure why it would say t-mobile instead of Orange, unless you are roaming somehow or they gave you the wrong sim card.

Where did your contacts come from? If they are already in Google all you have to do is go to settings > accounts > Google > sync contacts (may be a different menu on your version of Android)

The settings menu is usually under the notification bar or just by hitting the menu button on the home page and selecting settings.

Idle mode sounds like a sleep mode. Just hit the power button without holding to wake it back up.
