Using Google Sync to Transfer Contacts:

You can easily transfer the contacts from the Star Pro to the Galaxy S5 by first syncing them with your Google account. Once that step is complete, you can import the contacts from the account to your SGS5, as explained below:

  1. Sing up with your Google account on the Galaxy Star Pro
  2. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
  3. Tap "Settings" and go to "My accounts"
  4. Tap "Google" and tap your "email address" or "user name"
  5. Tap "Sync now", or clear and mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts"
  6. Switch over to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and sign in with the same Google account
  7. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  8. Tap "Settings"
  9. Scroll to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
  10. Press "Menu" and tap "Sync all"

Transferring Contacts via "Import / Export":

Using the "Contacts" application you can export the contacts stored on the Galaxy Star Pro as a vCard file. The file can then be transferred for import to the Galaxy S5, either via email or using a computer.

  1. Open the "Contacts" application on the Galaxy Star Pro
  2. From the "Contacts" tab, press "Menu" > "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
  3. Tap "Menu" and select "Import / Export"
  4. Tap "Export to SD card" and record the backup file's name for future use, then tap "OK"
  5. Open the email client and compose a new email
  6. Attach the vCard file to the email and send it to your Gmail address
  7. Switch to the Galaxy S5 and open the email
  8. Download the VCF file attachment and launch the "Contacts" application
  9. From there, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card" or "Import from storage"
  10. If necessary, choose the account on which to import the file and load the vCard to your phonebook

NOTE: After the vCard file has been created on the Galaxy Star Pro, you can transfer it to the Galaxy S5 by connecting both smartphones to your computer, and manually copy > pasting the file to the SGS5's storage, in the "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the "Contacts" app and follow the steps above to import the file

Sharing Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

If you wish to use a third party application to transfer your contacts, then "Send Anywhere" might fill the role. Send Anywhere is a third party app that offers the option of transferring contacts and various other types of files through a P2P connection. As such, you don't need a computer in order to complete this method

  1. Launch the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on both your smartphones
  2. Once you've installed the app, open it on both devices
  3. From the Galaxy Star Pro, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Choose the contacts that you wish to share and tap "Send"
  5. Select a transfer method. You can tap "Generate QR Code" on the Galaxy Star Pro and scan the resulting QR Code with the Galaxy S5's camera in order to commence the transfer. Alternatively, tap "Receive" on the SGS5 and enter the transfer code that has been randomly generated on the Star Pro
