Clearing the App Cache and / or Data:

NOTE: in case one of your apps isn't working correctly, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the application's cache and / or data.

WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of personal data stored in the app. This includes profiles, user information, high scores, saved games, credit card information etc. As such, it's highly advised that you first clear the app's cache and see if the issues have been fixed. Unlike clearing the data, when wiping the app's cache no personal data will be deleted.

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and touch "More"
  3. Tap "Application manager"
  4. Access the "All" tab and select the desired application
  5. Tap "Clear cache" > "OK"
  6. If the issues haven't been fixed, tap "Clear data" and confirm by pressing "OK"

Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: if you're planning on applying a master reset on your smartphone in order to fix certain issues, then you may want to try and clear the phone's cache partition first. This is because cleaning the cache will not result in the deletion of personal data.

  1. Power off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" at the same time
  3. Once the phone vibrates once, release the "Power" key but keep pressing the "Home" and "Volume Up" button
  4. When the "Android System Recovery" screen appears, release all hardware keys
  5. From the Recovery menu, press "Volume down" to navigate to and highlight "wipe cache partition"
  6. Press "Power" to select the option
  7. Once the partition has been wiped, the "Reboot system now" message will be highlighted
  8. Press "Power" to reboot your smartphone in normal mode

NOTE: Assuming that clearing the cache partition hasn't solved the issues you're experiencing with the device, then you may want to apply a factory reset. To learn how you can factory reset your Galaxy S5 Mini, visit this link for a full guide
