Transferring Contacts via Google Sync:

One of the most common methods of contact transfer between Android devices is via a Google account. On short, you can sync the contacts stored on the Young with your Google account, after which you can re-sync the contacts from the account with the Young 2.

  1. On the Galaxy Young, register your Google account
  2. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
  3. Tap "Settings" > "My accounts"
  4. Tap "Google" and touch your "user name" or "email address"
  5. Clear and mark the "Sync Contacts" check box, or tap "Sync now"
  6. On the Galaxy Young 2, register the same Google account. (NOTE: to add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts")
  7. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  8. Go to "Settings" and swipe to "User and Backup"
  9. Tap "Accounts", press "Menu" and tap "Sync all"

Transferring Contacts via the "Contacts" App:

Using the default "Contacts" app on the Galaxy Young, you can export the contacts in the form of a VCF file. The file can then be transferred over to the Galaxy Young 2 via email, or by using a computer. Once transferred, the file can be imported via the "Contacts" app:

  1. Launch the "Contacts" app on the Galaxy Young
  2. Access the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
  3. Tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
  4. Press "Menu" and tap "Import / Export"
  5. Tap "Export to SD card" and make sure you recall the backup file's name
  6. Tap "OK" and launch the email app
  7. Compose a new email and attach the VCF file to it
  8. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  9. Switch over to the Galaxy Young 2 and open the email
  10. Download the attached VCF file
  11. Launch the "Contacts" application and tap "Menu" > "Import / Export"
  12. Tap "Import from SD card" > "Import from storage"
  13. Choose an account if required, and browse for the VCF file to load it to the phonebook

NOTE: Once the vCard file has been exported on the Galaxy Young, you can transfer the file to the Young 2 by connecting both smartphones to a PC and manually copy > pasting the file to the "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the "Contacts" app and import the contacts as explained above

Transferring Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

Lastly, you can use third party apps in order to transfer your contacts. "Send Anywhere" is an app that has the ability to transfer various file types and contacts from one phone to another via a peer-2-peer connection. This method doesn't require access to a computer.

  1. Visit the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on both handsets
  2. Launch the app on both smartphones
  3. From the Galaxy Young, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Mark the contacts that you want to share and tap "Send"
  5. Select the desired method of transfer. Tapping "Receive" on the Galaxy Young 2 allows you to enter the randomly generated transfer code from the Young in order to begin the transfer. Alternatively, tap "Generate QR Code" on the Young, and scan the code with the Young 2's camera
