Backing Up Applications:

  1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to the "Accounts" tab
  3. Tap "Backup and reset"
  4. You need to be logged in to a Google account for the backup. If necessary, tap "Backup account" > "Add account" and follow the on-screen prompts to create or sign in with a Google account
  5. If necessary, mark the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Backup account"

Contact Backup

Backing Up Contacts Using a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. Tap the "Contacts" icon from the home screen
  2. Press the "Menu" button
  3. Tap "Merge accounts"
  4. Select to "Merge with Google" or "Merge with Samsung"
  5. Sign in with your Google or Samsung account if necessary and follow any additional steps if required

Backing Up Contacts on the SD Card:

  1. Ensure that an SD card is installed on your phone
  2. Tap "Contacts" from the home screen
  3. Press "Menu" and tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
  4. Press the "Menu" key again and tap "Import / Export"
  5. Tap "Export to SD card"
  6. Touch "OK" to confirm

Media File Backup

Backing Up Media Files Using the SD Storage:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "My Files"
  3. Go to "All files"
  4. Tap "Device storage". NOTE: to back up all of your files, press "Menu", tap "Select all" and skip to step 6
  5. Mark the check boxes associated with the items you wish to back up
  6. Tap the "Menu" icon in the top-right area of the screen
  7. Select to "Copy" or "Move" the files
  8. Tap "SD memory card" and navigate to the destination folder
  9. Tap "Paste here" or "Move here" depending on your initial choice

Backing Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect the Galaxy Ace NXT to your computer
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Mark the "Media device" check box
  4. From the AutoPlay window on your computer, click to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  5. Locate the desired files stored on your device
  6. Copy the files you wish to back up, and paste them in the desired backup location on your computer's HDD
  7. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone from the PC

Backing Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Skip the first 2 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac

  1. Using your Mac's Internet browser, go to Kies
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process
  3. Connect the Galaxy Ace NXT to the Mac via USB
  4. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  5. Mark the "Media device" check box and launch Kies on the Mac
  6. From Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab
  7. Click the "Backup" tab
  8. Mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo" or any other types of files you want to back up. Optionally, tap "Select all items"
  9. Click "Backup" and wait for the process to complete
  10. Once done, safely disconnect your smartphone
