Restoring Applications:

  1. Sign in with your Google or Samsung backup account
  2. Tap "Settings" from the home screen
  3. Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
  4. Select "Samsung" or "Google", depending on the type of account you have used for the backup
  5. Tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
  6. Tap "Sync all"
  7. Press "Back" twice to return to the "User and Backup" screen
  8. Tap "Backup and reset"
  9. Under "Backup and Restore", check / uncheck the boxes next to "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore"

Restoring Contacts

From a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. Log in with your Google or Samsung account
  2. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
  3. Swipe to "User and Backup" and then tap "Accounts"
  4. Select "Samsung" or "Google", depending on the type of account used for the backup
  5. Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
  6. Mark the "Sync Contacts" check box if necessary
  7. Tap "Sync now"

From the SD Card:

  1. Tap "Apps" while viewing a home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and swipe to "Applications"
  3. Go to "Contacts" > "Contacts to display"
  4. Tap "All contacts"
  5. Touch "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"
  6. Perform any self-explanatory steps that follow to browse for and load the VCF file

Restoring Media Files

From Your SD Card:

  1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
  2. Launch "My Files" and go to "All files"
  3. Tap "SD card"
  4. Press the "Menu" icon and tap "Select"
  5. Mark the check boxes associated with the desired media files
  6. Tap the "Menu" icon and select "Move"
  7. Choose "Device storage" and tap "Move here"
  8. To move the file(s) in a different location, tap "Create folder" or the folder name

From a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Galaxy S5 Plus to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
  3. Click "Open device to view files" in the AutoPlay window on the PC
  4. Go to the phone's SD card directory or the internal storage (desired restore location)
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files
  6. Transfer the files from your computer to the smartphone
  7. Once the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your handset

From a Mac Computer:

  1. Connect the S5 Plus to the Mac using the USB cable
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Media device"
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac
  4. In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab
  5. Go to the "Restore" tab if necessary
  6. Mark the check boxes next to "Music", "Photo" and any other types of media files you want to restore
  7. Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts that may follow
  8. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone from the Mac's desktop, and safely disconnect it from the USB
