Using iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes installed on a computer with Internet access, you can use the software to sync the contacts stored on your iPhone with a Google account. Then, you can re-sync the contacts from the account with the Samsung Galaxy V.

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect your iPhone to the PC via USB
  3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes
  4. Access the phone's summary page and click the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  6. From the drop-down list, select "Google Contacts"
  7. Add the Google account you wish to sync the contacts to. Alternatively, you can click "Configure" and select an account from the list, if added prior to finding this guide
  8. Start the syncing process by clicking "Apply"
  9. Once the syncing process is complete, sign in with your Google account on the Galaxy V and allow it to sync contacts with your device

Using iCloud:

NOTE: If you've used the iCloud service on your iPhone before, your contacts should already be backed up on your iCloud account. You can access the account using a computer with Internet access, and you can export these contacts for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Click "Contacts" and select the contacts you wish to export
  4. Click "Settings" and select "Export vCard"
  5. After the VCF file is downloaded on your computer, import it to "Google Contacts"
  6. Alternatively, skip the step above and instead connect the Galaxy V to your computer via USB and copy the VCF file to the phone's storage. Next, launch the "Contacts" app, press "Menu" > "Settings" > "Contacts" > "Import / Export". Follow any other self-explanatory steps to import the file to your phonebook

Using "My Contacts Backup":

NOTE: Another method of contact transfer is to use third party applications instead of a computer with access to the Internet. My Contacts Backup is an iOS application that allows you to back up the contacts stored on your iPhone in the form of a vCard file which can be sent to the Android device via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Launch the application and tap "Backup"
  3. Once the backup file is created, tap "Email"
  4. Compose a new email containing the VCF file as an attachment
  5. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  6. On the Samsung Galaxy V, open the email and download the attached file
  7. Once downloaded, import the file using the "Contacts" application and the "Import" option

Using "Send Anywhere":

NOTE: Send Anywhere is an iOS and Android third party app that can be used to transfer contacts cross-platform using a P2P connection. To use this method:

  1. Visit the App Store and install "Send Anywhere" on your iPhone
  2. From the Google Play Store download the app with the same name on your Samsung Galaxy V
  3. Launch the application on both smartphones
  4. Tap "Send" > "Contacts" on the iPhone
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap "Send"
  6. Select the desired transfer method. Tapping "Receive" on the Samsung Galaxy V allows you to commence the transfer by entering the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone. Alternatively tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone, and scan the resulting code with the Galaxy V's camera to begin the process
