Transferring Audio Files for Ringtones & Notification Sounds

From a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 and your computer
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down on your smartphone, and tap "Media device (MTP)"
  3. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the desired audio files stored on your computer
  5. Copy the files, and transfer them on your phone's storage, preferably in the "Ringtones" and / or "Notifications" folders
  6. Once the transfer is complete, click the "Mass Storage Device" icon located in the system tray and eject your phone's storage
  7. Safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer

From a Mac Computer:

NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first 3 steps

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your Mac and navigate to Kies
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS"
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on your Mac
  4. Use the USB cable to connect the Galaxy Mega 2 to your Mac
  5. Swipe the "Status" bar down and mark the check box associated with "Media device (MTP)"
  6. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Folder" icon associated with "External memory" or "Internal memory"
  7. In Kies, locate the directory where you want to transfer the audio files
  8. Locate the desired files on your computer, and drag > drop them in Kies
  9. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone's virtual storage and safely disconnect it from the Mac

Setting Custom Ringtones & Notification Sounds

Changing the Phone's Ringtone for All Calls:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
  2. Access "Settings"
  3. Tap "Sound" and under "Ringtones & Notifications", tap "Ringtones"
  4. Select the ringtone you wish to set
  5. Tap "OK"

Changing the Ringtone of a Single Contact:

NOTE: Contacts stored on the phone's internal memory or the SIM card cannot be personalized with custom ringtones

  1. Launch the "Contacts" application
  2. Select the contact you wish to edit
  3. Tap the "Edit" icon shaped like a pencil and select "Ringtone"
  4. Choose the desired ringtone and tap "OK"
  5. To apply the changes, tap "Save"

Setting a Custom Notification Sound:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap "Sound"
  4. Swipe to "Ringtones and Notifications" and tap "Notifications"
  5. Select the notification sound you wish to set, and tap "OK"
