    Backing Up Applications:

    1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Backup and reset"
    4. Before backing up your apps, you need to be signed in with a Google account. If necessary, tap "Backup account" > "Add account" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup
    5. If necessary, mark the check boxes next to "Backup account" and "Backup my data"

    Contact Backup

    Backing Up Contacts on a Google or Samsung Account:

    1. Open the "Contacts" application
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Tap "Merge accounts"
    4. Select either "Google" or "Samsung account"
    5. Tap "OK" to merge the contacts with the selected account

    Backing Up Contacts on the SD Card:

    1. Make sure the SD card is installed on your phone
    2. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
    3. Go to "Settings"
    4. Scroll to "Applications"
    5. Tap "Contacts" > "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
    6. Tap "Import / Export" > "Export to SD card"
    7. Tap "OK" to confirm
    8. Make sure you remember the backup file's name for finding it easier when restoring contacts

    Media File Backup

    Using Your Smartphone's SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch the "My Files" application
    3. Swipe to "Local Storage" and tap "Device storage"
    4. Tap 'Menu" in the top-right corner
    5. Tap "Select" and locate the files you wish to back up. NOTE: Media files are usually located in folders like "DCIM", "Music", "Downloads" etc.
    6. Mark the check boxes associated with the items you want to back up
    7. Press "Menu" and tap "Copy" > "SD card"
    8. Navigate to the desired backup folder and tap "Paste here"

    Backing Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 to your computer via USB
    2. Swipe the "Status" bar down
    3. Under "Connected as", mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
    4. In the AutoPlay window, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
    5. Navigate to the "Card" directory
    6. Locate the files you wish to back up, select and copy them
    7. Paste the files in the desired backup location on your computer's hard drive
    8. After the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer

    Backing Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: You need to skip the first 3 steps if Kies is already installed on your Mac computer

    1. Launch the Internet browser on your Mac
    2. Visit Kies and click "Download for Mac OS"
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies on the Mac
    4. Use the USB cable to connect the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 to your Mac
    5. Swipe the "notification" bar down and tap "Media Device (MTP)"
    6. Open Kies on the Mac and click the "Back up / restore" tab
    7. Click the "Backup" tab if necessary, and mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photos" and other types of media files
    8. Click "Backup"
    9. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone's storage from the desktop screen and safely disconnect the Mega 2 from the Mac
