How do you set individual ringtones or message alerts for different contacts on the Galaxy J1?
Cheers,

Re: Samsung Galaxy J1: Transfer and Set Custom Ringtones & Notification Sounds
Not sure if it works on the Galaxy J1, but try opening "Contacts" and select the contact you want to customize. Tap to edit the contact's details, and there should be a drop-down menu to select a specific ringtone (or a Ringtone option per se).
Note that, in general, custom ringtones can't be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phone's internal memory. They need to be Google contacts synced with your account etc.
Cheers

Re: Samsung Galaxy J1: Transfer and Set Custom Ringtones & Notification Sounds
Hi, just a question. I'm trying to set a custom mp3 as my mother's text message notification sound, but it's not coming up on the list of available sounds and I can't find a way to set it as that. She's got a Samsung Galaxy J1 - is it even possible to set a custom ringtone on this phone besides the built-in list it gives you?
Thanks.
