Restore App Data:

  1. Sign in with the Google or Samsung account used for the initial backup
  2. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
  3. Access "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
  4. Tap "Samsung" or "Google"
  5. Tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
  6. Tap "Sync all"
  7. Press "Back" and tap "Backup and reset"
  8. Check the boxes next to "Automatic restore" and "Back up my data"

Restoring Contacts

From a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. Sign in with your Samsung or Google account
  2. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  3. Go to "Settings"
  4. Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
  5. Tap "Samsung" or "Google" and then tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
  6. Check the "Sync contacts" box and tap "Sync now"

From an SD Card:

  1. Ensure the SD card containing the backup file is installed on your phone
  2. Launch "Contacts"
  3. Access the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
  4. Tap "Settings" > "Contacts" > "Import / Export"
  5. Tap "Import from SD card"
  6. Select an account and follow the on-screen steps to import the VCF file

Restore Media Files

From the SD Card:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Launch "My Files" and tap "All files"
  3. Tap "SD card" and press "Menu" > "Select"
  4. Select the items you wish to restore
  5. Tap "Menu" > "Move" > "Device storage"
  6. Navigate to the location where you want to restore the files and tap "Move here"
  7. To restore the files in another location, tap "Create folder" > "Move here"

From a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Xcover 3 to your computer via USB
  2. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
  4. Click "Open device to view files"
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the backed up files on your computer
  6. Copy the files and transfer them in the "Phone" or "Card" directory on the phone
  7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect it from the computer

From a Mac Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Xcover 3 and your Mac
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and make sure the "Media device (MTP)" option is enabled
  3. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Back up / Restore" tab
  4. Access the "Restore" tab and mark the check boxes next to "Photo", "Music" and other types of media files. You can also tap "Select all items"
  5. Click "Restore" and follow the on-screen steps
  6. After the process is complete, drag the phone's virtual drive in the "Eject / Trash" bin and safely disconnect the smartphone from the Mac
