Using iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with Internet access you can export the contacts stored on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then easily sync the contacts from the account with the S6 Edge+
- Launch iTunes on the computer
- Connect the iPhone to your PC via USB
- In iTunes, click the iPhone to view the summary page
- Access the “Info” tab and enable “Sync Contacts With”
- From the drop-down menu select “Google Contacts”
- Sign in with your Google account in iTunes, or click “Configure” and select an existing account from the list
- Click “Apply” and the sync will start
- Once complete, register the same Google account used in iTunes on the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and allow it to sync contacts with your phone
Using iCloud:
NOTE: Assuming you’ve used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone before, your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account already. You can access it on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts as a vCard file.
- Open the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
- Click “Contacts”
- Select the contacts you want to share and click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
- Once the vCard file is downloaded on the computer, import it to “Google Contacts” or:
- Connect the Galaxy S6 Edge+ to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard file to the phone’s storage, and use the “Import” option from the “Contacts” app to add the contacts to your phonebook
Using “My Contacts Backup”:
NOTE: While the two methods above require access to a computer, you can also transfer your contacts using third party applications instead. My Contacts Backup is iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email. To use this method:
- Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on your iPhone
- Launch the application
- Tap “Backup” and after the file is created, tap “Email”
- Compose a new email containing the attached vCard file
- Send the email to your own Gmail address
- Switch to the S6 Edge+, open the email, and download the vCard file attachment
- Import the file using the “Contacts” app
Using “Send Anywhere”:
NOTE: Another third party app you can use is Send Anywhere. Available for iOS and Android, the app uses a p2p connection to transfer contacts without a computer (cross platform too).
- Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on your iPhone
- Install the app on the Edge+ via the Google Play Store
- Launch the app on both smartphones
- Tap “Send” on the iPhone and select the contacts you want to share
- Tap “Send” again and select a transfer method. You can tap “Receive” on the Edge+ and enter the transfer code from the iPhone, or tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the Edge+’s camera to begin the transfer
