Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy A7 and computer
- On the phone, drag the “Status” bar down and enable “Media device (MTP)” if necessary
- Open an Explorer window on the computer
- Locate the desired audio files on your PC’s hard drive
- Copy the files and paste them on the phone storage, in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications” directories
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, you should skip the first 3 steps below.
- Launch the Internet browser on your Mac
- Visit Kies Support
- Click “Kies 3 for Mac”, then install Kies on the Mac once downloaded
- Connect the Galaxy A7 to your Mac via USB, and make sure it’s connected as “Media device (MTP)”
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- In Kies, click the “Folder” icon next to “External memory” or “Internal memory”
- Launch a file explorer on the Mac and locate the audio files you want to use as ringtones / notifications on your phone
- Drag the files and drop them inside Kies
- Once the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive into the “Trash can” icon to eject it, and safely disconnect the device from the USB
Change the Phone Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Sound and Display”
- Tap “Sounds and notifications”
- Tap “Ringtones” and choose the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” to confirm
Change the Notification Sound:
- Go to the “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Sound and Display”
- Tap “Sounds and notifications” and then tap “Notifications”
- Select the desired sound and tap “OK”
