Enable Power Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer and access Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Power
- Tap Power saving mode to enable it
- You can customize how the mode works by enabling or disabling the available Power Saving options
Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Power under System
- Tap to enable Ultra Power saving mode
- To further customize how the mode works, you can tap + to add apps, or remove apps at your leisure
Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth:
NOTE: By disabling the phones connectivity features when not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- On the home screen and swipe the Status bar down
- Tap the tiles associated with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Location to disable these features
- Open the Settings menu
- Scroll to Network Connections and tap Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
- Tap to disable Hotspot
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Display
- Go to Brightness and if necessary, disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the slider towards the left and tap Ok
- In the Display menu, tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By syncing less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Access the Settings menu
- Go to User and Backup and tap Accounts
- Access the Accounts tab
- Select an account and adjust the available sync options
- For more options, tap your email address or user name at the top
Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:
NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phones battery life even when not in use assuming that the apps perform regular background processes. By disabling or removing unused third party apps you could improve battery life in the long run.
- Access the Settings" menu
- Go to Apps and tap Application manager"
- Access Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Disable
- If you wish to remove the app, tap Uninstall > OK
Disable Background Data:
- Open the Settings menu
- Tap Data usage > Menu
- Tap to enable Restrict background data
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Tap More networks > Mobile Networks
- Tap Network mode and select GSM only
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: Software updates can improve battery life, thus you should keep your phone up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll down to System
- Tap About device > Software updates
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to download and install it
