Using iTunes:

NOTE: With iTunes installed on your computer with Internet access, you can use the app to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. You can then sync the account data with the Galaxy J1.

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to your PC via USB
  3. Once connected, click the iPhone to view the device’s summary page
  4. Access the “Info” tab and turn on “Sync Contacts With
  5. From the drop-down menu, select “Google Contacts
  6. Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account if available
  7. Click “Apply” and wait for the sync to end
  8. Once the sync is done, register the Google account on the Galaxy J1 and allow the account to sync contacts with your phone

Using iCloud:

NOTE: In case your iPhone contacts are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the PC
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
  3. Click “Contacts
  4. Select the contacts you want to share and click “Settings
  5. Click “Export vCard” and wait for the vCard to be downloaded on the computer
  6. Import the vCard to “Google Contacts”, or alternatively, skip this step and instead:
  7. Connect the Galaxy J1 to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and import its contents using the “Contacts” application

Via “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: The methods above require access to a computer with an active Internet connection. However you can use third party apps like My Contacts Backup to transfer your contacts without a PC. This is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the application
  3. Tap “Backup” and wait for the backup file to be created
  4. Once the file is done, tap “Email
  5. Write a new email and make sure the vCard is attached
  6. Send the email to your own address
  7. Switch to the Samsung Galaxy J1, open the email, and download the attached vCard
  8. Open the “Contacts” app and use it to import the vCard to your phonebook

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party application you can use to transfer contacts without needing a computer. The app uses a peer-to-peer connection to transfer contacts and other types of files.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Google Play Store and install the app on the Galaxy J1
  3. Launch the app on both devices
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap “Send
  6. Select a transfer method. For instance, you can tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the Galaxy J1 camera, or tap “Receive” on the Samsung device and enter the transfer code from the iPhone
