Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to System
- Tap Battery and tap the Power saving mode switch to ON
- Tap Start power saving
- Select a battery percentage at which the phone enables Battery Saving Mode automatically
Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Under System, tap Battery
- Tap the switch to enable Ultra power saving mode
- Tap Agree to proceed
- After enabling the mode, you can tap + to add more applications on the Ultra power saving mode home screen
Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Display
- Tap Automatic brightness and turn off the feature if necessary
- Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout and choose a lower value option, like 15 seconds
Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS while they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Access the Settings menu
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to disable
Use 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can extend battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap More connection settings > Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode
- Select GSM only
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps can affect battery performance even when not in use, due to the fact that they can perform regular background processes. Thus, by turning off or removing unused third party applications, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Tap Applications under Device
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired application
- Tap Turn off / Disable
- Optionally, to remove an app, tap Uninstall twice to confirm
Disable Background Data:
- Open Settings
- Tap Data usage under Connections
- Tap More > Restrict background data
- Press OK to confirm
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts / apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts and select the desired account type
- Select an account and clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
- After customizing the sync settings, tap Menu > Sync now to save the changes
