Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “System”
  3. Tap “Battery” and tap the “Power saving mode” switch to “ON”
  4. Tap “Start power saving”
  5. Select a battery percentage at which the phone enables Battery Saving Mode automatically

Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Under “System”, tap “Battery”
  4. Tap the switch to enable “Ultra power saving mode”
  5. Tap “Agree” to proceed
  6. After enabling the mode, you can tap “+” to add more applications on the Ultra power saving mode home screen

Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Automatic brightness” and turn off the feature if necessary
  4. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
  5. Tap “Screen timeout” and choose a lower value option, like “15 seconds”

Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS while they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to disable

Use 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can extend battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap “More connection settings” > “Mobile networks”
  5. Tap “Network mode”
  6. Select “GSM only”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps can affect battery performance even when not in use, due to the fact that they can perform regular background processes. Thus, by turning off or removing unused third party applications, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Applications” under “Device”
  4. Tap “Application manager”
  5. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
  6. Tap “Turn off” / “Disable”
  7. Optionally, to remove an app, tap “Uninstall” twice to confirm

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Data usage” under “Connections”
  3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
  4. Press “OK” to confirm

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts / apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account type
  4. Select an account and clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
  5. After customizing the sync settings, tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to save the changes
