Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy Express Prime to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” when prompted, otherwise swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen and enable the option there
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the desired audio files on your PC and copy them
- Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folders in the “Media” directory
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first 3 steps.
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Kies Support
- Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Galaxy Express Prime to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt, otherwise turn the feature ON from the notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Inside Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory”
- Open the file explorer on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
- Drag and drop the files inside Kies
- After the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can” to eject it
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & notifications”
- Tap “Ringtones and sounds” under “Sound”
- Tap “Ringtone” > “Add ringtone”
- Choose “Sound picker” and select to use this option “Always” or “Just once”
- Select the audio files to add to the ringtone list and tap “Done”
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & notifications”
- Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones & sounds”
- Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “Back” to save the changes
Change a Contact’s Ringtone:
- Open “Contacts”
- Select the contact to set a custom ringtone to
- Tap “Edit” > “Ringtone”
- Choose the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
- Tap “Save”
Change the Notification Sound:
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Sounds & Notifications” under “Device”
- Tap “Ringtones and Sounds”
- Select a notification type
- Select the notification sound you want to use
- Tap “Back” to apply the changes
