Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “System
  3. Tap “Battery
  4. Set the “Battery saving mode” switch to “ON
  5. Tap “Start power saving” and select a battery percentage at which the mode should automatically enable

Turn On Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings
  2. Scroll to “System
  3. Tap “Battery” and turn on “Ultra power saving mode
  4. Tap “Agree
  5. To add additional apps on the Ultra power saving mode home screen, tap “+

Disable Connectivity When Not In Use:

NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Connections
  4. Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to disable

Temporarily Switch to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings
  3. Scroll to “Connections” and tap “More connection settings
  4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode
  5. Select “GSM only

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device
  2. Tap “Display
  3. Tap “Automatic brightness
  4. If necessary, turn off automatic brightness
  5. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease screen brightness
  6. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Connections
  2. Tap “Data usage
  3. Tap “More
  4. Select “Restrict background data” and tap “OK” to confirm

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect battery life even when unused, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps you might be able to improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Scroll to “Device
  3. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager
  4. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Disable” / “Turn off” to disable the app
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “Uninstall

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: To improve battery life in the long run, you can reduce the amount of data being synced by your apps and / or accounts.

  1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal
  2. Tap “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and an account
  4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now” to apply the changes
