Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Samsung phone to your PC via USB
  2. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, otherwise enable the option from the “Status” area
  3. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  4. Navigate to the audio files you want to use on your phone
  5. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:

NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.

  1. On the Mac, open the Internet browser
  2. Navigate to Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and install Kies on the computer
  4. Connect the Samsung device to your phone via USB
  5. If necessary, install any required USB drivers
  6. On the phone, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File transfer (MTP)” at the pop-up or from the “notification” area
  7. Launch Kies on the Mac
  8. Inside Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory” and navigate to where you want to add audio files
  9. Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
  10. Drag the files and drop them inside Kies
  11. Wait for the transfer to complete. Once done, eject the phone’s virtual drive by dragging it from the desktop and into the trash can, and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “Sounds and vibrations”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds”
  4. Tap “Ringtone” > “Add ringtone”
  5. Select “Sound picker”
  6. Choose “Always” or “Just once”
  7. Select the desired audio files and tap ”Done”

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Tap “Sounds and vibration” > “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and press “Back” to save the changes

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact and tap the “Edit” icon
  3. Tap “More”
  4. Go to “Ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
  6. Press “Back” to apply the changes

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Tap “Sounds and vibration”
  4. Tap “Notification sound”
  5. Select the desired notification type
  6. Select a notification sound
  7. Press “Back” to apply the changes
