Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung phone to your PC via USB
- At the prompt, enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP), otherwise enable the option from the Status area
- On the computer, open the File Explorer
- Navigate to the audio files you want to use on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.
- On the Mac, open the Internet browser
- Navigate to Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and install Kies on the computer
- Connect the Samsung device to your phone via USB
- If necessary, install any required USB drivers
- On the phone, enable Media device (MTP) / File transfer (MTP) at the pop-up or from the notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Inside Kies, click the Folder icon associated with Internal memory or External memory and navigate to where you want to add audio files
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
- Drag the files and drop them inside Kies
- Wait for the transfer to complete. Once done, eject the phones virtual drive by dragging it from the desktop and into the trash can, and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Tap Sounds and vibrations
- Tap Ringtones and sounds
- Tap Ringtone > Add ringtone
- Select Sound picker
- Choose Always or Just once
- Select the desired audio files and tap Done
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Tap Sounds and vibration > Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and press Back to save the changes
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phones internal memory.
- Open Contacts
- Select the desired contact and tap the Edit icon
- Tap More
- Go to Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap OK to confirm
- Press Back to apply the changes
Change the Notification Sound:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Tap Sounds and vibration
- Tap Notification sound
- Select the desired notification type
- Select a notification sound
- Press Back to apply the changes
