Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  4. Enable “Power saving mode”
  5. Tap “Start power saving“ and select a battery percentage at which Power Saving mode enables automatically

Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  4. Enable “Ultra power saving mode” and tap “Agree”
  5. To add apps on the Ultra Power Saving mode home screen, tap “+”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Device”, tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Automatic brightness” to disable the option if necessary
  4. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
  5. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By turning on Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, tap “Apps”
  2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap the switches associate with the connectivity features you want to turn off

Temporarily Switch to 2G:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G connectivity.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap “More connection settings” > “Mobile networks”
  5. Tap “Network mode” and select “GSM only”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps can perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery life even when the apps are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
  3. Tap “Application manager”
  4. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  5. Tap “Turn off” / “Disable” to disable the application
  6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” two times to confirm

Disable Background Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections” and tap “Data usage”
  3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings on your device to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts”
  4. Select an account type and the desired account
  5. Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off
  6. To save the changes, tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
