Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  4. Tap the “Power saving mode” switch to enable the mode
  5. Choose a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically

Enable Power Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Battery” under “System”
  4. Tap the “Ultra power saving mode” switch to enable the feature
  5. Tap “Agree”
  6. After the mode is enabled, you can tap “+” to add more apps on the ultra power saving mode home screen

Lower the Screen Brightness & Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. Disable “Automatic brightness” if necessary”
  4. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap the switches next to the connectivity options you want to turn off

Switch to 2G Connectivity:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections”
  3. Tap “more connection settings” > “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Network mode” > “GSM Only”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your apps / accounts, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  2. Tap “Accounts”
  3. Select the desired account type
  4. Select an account and clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off
  5. Tap “Menu” and tap “Sync now”

Turn Off Background Data:

  1. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Connections”
  2. Tap “Data usage”
  3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes, and can affect battery life even when the apps are not in use. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps on your phone, you could improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
  4. Tap “Application manager”
  5. Swipe to “Downloaded”
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Turn off” / “Disable”
  7. To remove an the app instead, tap “Uninstall” two times
