Clear App Data / Cache:

NOTE: In case one of your apps crashes, freezes, occupies too much storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache and / or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal information stored within the app, including login and credit card information, profiles, high scores, settings etc. will be deleted. To avoid losing personal data, clear ONLY the application’s cache.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device
  3. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager
  4. Swipe to “Downloaded” or “All
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache
  6. If necessary, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (read WARNING above)

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can yield results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data on the device’s internal memory.

  1. Turn off the phone if necessary
  2. Press and hold “Power”, “Home” and “Volume Up” at the same time
  3. At the “Samsung” logo, release the “Power” button
  4. Release “Volume Up” and “Home” when the “Android” screen appears
  5. Once in the Android System Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “wipe cache partition
  6. Press “Power” to confirm
  7. After the cache partition is wiped, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

NOTE: If wiping the cache partition didn’t solve the problems, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an Application:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party application that causes issues on the phone and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.

  1. Ensure the phone is powered off
  2. Press and hold “Power
  3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power” and immediately press & hold “Volume down
  4. Release the button once the phone finishes rebooting. NOTE: A “Safe Mode” label should be shown in the lower-left corner of the home screen
  5. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device
  6. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager
  7. Go to “Downloaded
  8. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” twice to confirm
  9. After the app has been removed, you can exit safe mode by rebooting your phone as you would do normally (press and hold “Power” then tap “Restart”)
