Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Sign in with the Google account used for the initial backup
- Go to the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Under “User and Backup”, tap “Accounts”
- Choose “Google” and tap your “email address” or “user name” at the top
- Make sure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
Restore Contacts from Storage / SD Card:
- Ensure the microSD card containing your backups is fitted on the phone
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
- Access “Contacts”
- Select “Import” and choose “SD Card” or “Storage”
- Select to import multiple vCards or a single vCard file
- Select to restore the vCard on “Device storage” or to sync its contents with your “Google” account
Restore Media Files from an SD Card:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “My Files”
- Under “Local storage”, tap “SD Card”
- Tap “More” > “Edit”
- Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
- Tap “More” > “Move”
- Choose “Device storage”
- Tap “Create folder” or navigate to a different location
- Tap “Move here” to restore the selected files
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
- Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage and copy them
- Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directory they originate from
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy On Nxt to your computer via USB
- Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the “Back up / restore” tab
- Access the “Restore” tab and tick the boxes associated with the media file types you want to restore (Optionally tap “Select all”)
- Click “Restore” and follow any on-screen prompts that may appear
- Once the restore is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “trash can” to eject it
