Prob with soft

Hello,

I have just got a new samsung e700 and I am trying to use it's infared features to get pics etc. on or off my phone, but when I line my phones infared port with my laptops infared port the recignise each oth but the software doesn't know the phone is there. I have tried setting the port to Infared but that option doesn't appear in the list. The IR moniter says it communicates as COM4 but If i change the port to this it still dosen't work. Please help me what do I do?

what software are you using? operating system?
