Unblock your PUK problem, yes, unlock your phone, no

Cell phones unlocking is like opening a door. It's not about what's behind the door. It's the fact that there is someone else's lock on one of your doors.

My phone (E105) at this point locked up. Message on phone at start up said (PHONE LOCKED RETURN FOR SERVICE). I fixed it by booting up with providers sim card and at (PHONE LOCKED RETURN FOR SERVICE) message type *#9998*3323#. A message will pop up telling you to press exit, so hit the right softkey. Choose "malloc fail". Your phone will reboot and your SIM will work. When it re-boots reset memory (SIMLOCK`a removing!!!) type * 2 7 6 7 * 3 8 5 5 # Phone re-boots. At the SIM code password prompt type 00000000, that is 8 zeroes.
You may have to try this more than one time-this worked on my E105 phone.

Sorry, but that only applies to certain phones. The x426 no longer has this "error" menu after rev 1.6 of the firmware. That is why it is such a problem for us when this occurs. The best way to solve the problem after 1.6 is to either unlock via cable or re-flash the firmware.

I figured, it happens. There should be a "delete this post" option to check off when you go to the edit page.

all better... will the cable unlock my phone to different carriers + get rid of the "phone locked return for service" error? and will i have to flash the rom to get rid of it? or will AT&T unlock the phone from the "locked" error for free?

They will charge $15 for the warranty exchange program. The cable will allow you to unlock services and remove that error message. You can try Cerebros to re-write your IMEi, which resets the phone at the same time (should fix your problem) or you may have to reflash teh firmware.

Make sure you know what com port your cable actually attatches through. Whatever com you select the program always says com1. I selected com2, and mine worked fine. I don't know, my cable is on com 1 so that could be why com1 works for me
