SGH-x426 Turns off if I put sim in

My phone used to work fine untill not to long ago when I took sim out for some reason and put it back in. Now whenever I put the sim in the phone dies part way through the start-up logo. If there is no sim the phone sits for hours at the Insert Sim screen so its not the battery. What could it be?

you may have damaged a contact on the sim or the phone itself... maybe you can go to the phone store and see if they will let you try your sim card in another phone to see if that part is damaged
