Change ring for new messages / vmail

Does anyone know how to change the ringtone for new text messages or voicemail on a SCH-a650? I can change the rings for incoming calls, and indiviudal callers, but want to get rid of the basic ring when new text messages come in. Anyone got any ideas?

you can't, can only change tones for calls. for messages, you only have 10 choices. it's always been like that since the s100. that's the case with my D508 too. you can change by modding firmware but that getting really technically there.

If you mod your firmware does it void your warrenty? also where can i get firmware updates.

yes. firmware modding does void your warranty. it's wise to get an official samsung data cable to backup your firmware and seek a modded firmware or mod a copy of your firmware. then you must upload firmware back to your phone.

not sure where to find firmware for that model. do a search on google and see what happens. most of the firmwre available are gsm-based firmwares.
