Hello everyone, I recently purchased a Samsung A740 Picture phone, with sprint service and I have their vision plan (wireless internet).
My problem, is that I'm trying to download new ringtones to the phone, rather than paying for them. (this shouldn't be illegal if I already own them on my pc..)
I uploaded some MIDI files to my geocities site, and when I access them from my phones internal browser it starts playing them. It plays them very nicely and I'd love to use them as ringers, but it doesn't download them.. it just plays them.
I can't seem to the the php source that commercial sites (and some free sites) use to send ringers to the phone (like sprints own, ringers.sprintpcs.com (the link will only work on vision phones)) Has anyone else found a way to actually download the ringers to their phone thru their browser?
Also, I looked into getting a cable, my local Radio Shack has one that fits into the bottom of the phone, but of all the software available, none say that they can sync ringers with my model phone (a740).. which means getting a cable would be useless unless I wan't to synce contancts....
Finally, my wap browser (on the phone) has problems viewing wap sites! I tried tagtag.com and truepolyphonic.com both of which work on WAP Browser emulators, but not on the phone itself. However, I registered an account on the (glitchy) tagtag.com and my own WAP homepage shows on my phone.. it's as if Sprint has blocked all the site I might get free ring tones from.. but I doubt they'd goto all that trouble.. or would they?
If anybody knows anything about my questions, I'd appriciate your help! Thanks..

Have you tried emailing it as an attachment? Does this work for you?
Or perhaps use the Focus tool on sprintusers.com

Hi
This sounds interesting - check out http://www.hotlib.com/products1.php?id=22947 - but if my memory serves me correctly there are other sites offering this for free, I just can't find it now... It has a trial version, so try it out...
