Samsung A670 Battery Life

I just have a question for fellow A670 users. I just charged my phone last night while the phone was turned off. When I got up this morning it was done charging with the green light on, so I figured it was good to go.

Now that was at 7:00 am when I left for work it had three full bars. When I arrived at work 8:15 am it only had 1 bar left. I didnt think anything of it because it seems the last bar really is equal to about 1/2 of the usual battery life (seems to be an inaccurate battery meter). Anway, it is now 9:30 am and it is the phone shut itself off for battery low already. This has been going on for about three days now.

I havent made any calls on it today at all, only received 2 text messages. I can hardly believe my battery should be almost dead after only 2 and a half hours after it was finished charging. Is there something wrong with this phone or is it just me. I have my phone set to "Powersave mode" also which apparently isnt helping at all.

This phone is only two months old hardly old enough for the battery to be shot already. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated before I head out to Verizon Store to replace the battery.

yeah there seems to be a problem with the meter. Sometimes i charge my phone ON with power save OFF and the phone will last from 7 am to about 9pm. Sometimes it will only last about 2 hours just like the person above. The Phone charges off and P.S on. I dont know whats the problem but it gets anoying. What good is a CELLPHONE that is inaccurate about battery life. In an emergancy its completely usless. Also if its on vibrate you dont get a low batt tone or vibrate. it just shuts off. This sucks because when u least expect it your phone is off.......

Well, I couldn't figure out a solution to the problem. So I went and got the battery replaced at the Verizon Store. However, I'm having the problem again, but the phone is lasting a little bit longer. I charged it and it lasted from 7am to 3pm today.

I dont know what the hell is going on with this thing. It was very reliable when I first got this thing. I don't use it very much all I did today was read about 4 or 5 text messages that I got and thats it, no incoming calls or outgoing calls.

This thing is really starting to irritate me! According to the specs on Samsungs website for this product the standby should be up to 7 days! I cant even get 1 day out of it!

I dont know if anyone has gotten Verizon to update the firmware on this phone. I'm curious to know if this will correct my battery life situation...

Did you charge the battery correctly the first time? A lot of people don't know the "rules" about rechargable batteries. You charge it all the way up, or overnight, whichever suits you. Then you have to let the battery die all the way. Otherwise the battery can't maintain a charge and you'll have problems like the afore mentioned ones.

Yeah the Rule is A VERY IMPORTANT PART. You shouldnt even turn it on until the phone has gone thru a full charge first. But when you get a new phone they always have to turn it on down at your retailer so they can program it. So its hard to follow the rule...

Well, they did turn it on intially at the store when i replaced the battery and it had only small charge 1 bar. I brought it home and turned it off and let it charge. I also read that the battery needs to "cycle" three times for the battery to work at its full capacity. So I let the battery run out of power and charged completely the three times. Its working a lot better now.

When I first got the phone I was never told this had to be done to prevent the danger of killing the battery. Also, I found no mention of this in the phones instruction manual. So now I only charge the phone when it goes completey dead and shuts off.

Before I was charging it if it had one bar or was blinking no bars but not completey dead. Apparently this is not a good idea if you want the battery to last longer than a few months.

Flashing batteries???

Ok. i went to the mall an bought a 25 doller flashing battery. Now they take a while to start flashing but thats not the point. I charged it all night. I took it off at around 7 am. Its now 9:30 pm and it still has a full charge. Through out the day i made about 6 phone calls, did 15 text and played a game for a about 5 minutes. Maybe you should try buying a flashing battery. Ok back to the first part. I dont know why but it took about 2 battery cycles for the flashing part to work every time i placed or received a call.

Yea, the phone's battery life sucks. In one day with full power the battery will die.

Acually it looks pretty clean. Because For 25 bucks at most Malls you get a face plate with it.
