I just got this phone from Cingular. Is there a way to use my own mp3s as Ringtones? I have software to convert them too mmf, but how do I get them to the phone. I understand there's a data cable, but can you do it with that? I'd like to find a way where I do not have to pay for wapi service. Is this possible?

I just figured all this out myself.

Go on eBay and buy a cheap usb data cable, it should be about 15 bucks with shipping included. Then go to www.samsung.com and search for downloads for the sgh-x427m. Click on the "software" button. You will be directed to 4 possible downloads. You will want to download the PIMS and file manager software, I think it's called Samsung PC Suite II. Also, they've got a really cool Image editiing software designed for SGH phones.

Once you've downloaded and installed the software, and you have your phone and data cable installed you have to determine which communication port your data cable is using. To do this just go to the device manager in the control panel and you will see which COM port the phone is using. Then open the PC Suite and go to "file" then "setup" assign the correct COM port and you're on your way to uploading ringtones and managing your phone book.
