I've had my Samsung x427 with Cingular for nearly a year. The reception has always been fine anywhere in my house, until about two weeks ago. Now, even if I'm leaning out the window, I can hardly get any reception and my calls are repeatedly dropped. This is really frustrating, especially as this is my only phone (I don't have a landline).
Does anyone know why this might be happening or what I can do to make it stop? I was thinking of getting one of those sticker-antennas that goes on the battery, but I don't know if those things even work.
Thanks.

It could be either the provider or your phone. Talk to Cingular and ask them if they have done anything recently around your area or ask your neighbor or friends if they have similar problem. If it only happens to your phone, it can be hardware problem and you have to send it back to have it fixed. Hope that it is still under warranty.

I have the same phone and have a similar problem. It will go from full bars to no bars and back to full bars just by moving it one foot in my house. If you are under the one year mark call cingular and they will send you a new one for free.
