D600 mini review

hi, i just bought the d600 and whilst it has some redeeming features like great looks, excellent sound quality and support for BT hphones with A2DP profile (which is why i got it) overall i would have to say that this phone is a toy and not a serious device for organising and enhancing your life, infact its poo.

after playing mp3's with my stereo BT phones and hearing the quality of sound, i was more than happy to part with cash.

once home i start to explore, first problem, whilst playing mp3's you cant do anything else, nothing, zip, nada. after pairing, if want to listen to your tunes with the BT you have to press play then go into a menu to select 'listen through stereo phones and then needs to pair again. der

ok camera time, it has some nice features and excellent resolution at 1600x1200 max. then i tried to zoom, oh my god what was that noise it makes when you zoom, talk about fisher price.

the d-pad is set too low for you to comfortably hold the device and press the buttons, it should of been set higher in the case, there is space so dont know why they took this route. if youve got nails, then forget it this phone is not for you.

text next, coming from nokia trying to write a text on this thing is impossible. why would you put space on the hash key instead of on 0, you can hardly reach it when texting with one hand and the T9 is hardly slick compared to SE or Nokia's.

and why does the screen go off in 3 secounds and why does it keep locking it self with no apprent way of stopping it locking, there must way be a way but its far from obvious.

with great potetial its let down at almost every turn, which is a shame because it is great looking device and feels slick in the hand, the screen is very good and the wap browser works well enough if a little simple. google/pda popped with no problems but wouldnt stream mp3 at 24kbps.

to summerise, whoever desinged this software is a moron.

so the D600 goes back to the shop tommorrow and i will be waiting for the i300 and hope for better things.

yes thats the one.

its not one thing but the whole phone that just wasnt right for me, i wait for the i300. you know what your getting with WM5.
