I broke the small front LCD screen on my Samsung SCH-A670. I'm thinking of buying a non-working SCH-A670 for parts. My question is after removing the faceplate, does anyone know how the front LCD is connected to the main display board? Is it connected via small connector (hopefully) or does it use some sort of soldered connection (hopefully not)? Has anyone out there replaced their front LCD and can pass along a procedure on how to do it?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

1: Remove battery and ALL screws
    2: Open up rear cover
3: Remove Motherboard by disconnecting the Flex Cable
4: Take a small screw driver/pin/paperclip andpush out a small spirng loaded bar, located on the Right or left side of the LCD connection
    5: Push it out
    6: Dismantle the ENTIRE topflip
7: Replace the new LCD into the topflip
    8: Re-assemble

they're your done! Oooo... btw, use a #0 Screwdriver!!!

1: I removed the battery and ALL the screws including the one near the antenna that was covered up
2: I opened the rear cover
3: I removed the motherboard by disconnecting the flex cable connector from the motherboard
4: I could not find the small spring loaded bar located on the right or left side of the LCD connection.

Is it possible to post a picture of the small spring loaded bar?

    Removing the LCD assy

How do I get the flex connector out when I pull off the LCD assy? I've attached some pics to illustrate it.

    broken lcd

i have a a660 and ive run into this SAME problem. i believe it has -something- to do with the slight acces to the side of the henge assembly opposite of the flex cable. i believe there is something to be pushed pulled or otherwise moddified to allow the device to be dissassembled.

    frustrating lil bugger thou...

all it is is a small data flow error: means it was spliced or crimped, no data can flow from the lcd to the phone mobo

im not having an issue with the screen not working, far from it, i actually have an issue disassembling the phone itself to figure out -why- the phone isn't flipping open and shut like it used to. i believe i have found the culprit, a very small metal clip that holds the henge to the plastic body of the phone. guess what broke? yep the plastic. so ive had to go ahead and reassemble my phone (it still works - yay). in the mean time im ordering a parts phone from ebay to replace the henge.

my only qualm is that i cant get the henge to come apart. like i said in my last post, it has to do with -something- in that little area opposite of the flex cable. something has to be pushed, pulled or otherwise moddified to get the henge to disengage from the body of the phone. if i could figure this one out, id have myself a full disassembly post for the a660 (and most 600 series for that matter).
