Hey, I just got the samsung a920 and it seems like a pretty cool phone. I just thought that I would be able to make my own ringtones and set them on my phone, but I don't think I know how... can anyone help me out???!
Thanks,
Daniel

Hi
You need to install the software that came with your phone and have either a data cable or use infrared with your laptop or bluetooth. Making your own ringtones is not easy, but can be achieved if you have experience with midi editing software. If you just want to upload songs from your CD's, you should get CD ripping software, that will convert your songs to MP3 so that you can upload it to your phone. Remember that you usually can't use a full song as ringtone, so you're going to have to edit it a bit (use SoundForge or similar software). For creating your own midi files, use something like Cubase VST.

Hi
It seems the only way to load data onto the phone (media) is to get a flash card reader and to directly copy it to the flash disk. You must however create the right folders on the SD disk (media) to get the phone to recognise it as playable files.

goto funformobile and upload from there. so long as you have unlimited browser on your plan it is good no charge from the site

With unlimited browser, use http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/ and put them on your phone.
Any mp3, aac, mp4, 3gp, and 3g2 media can be used, providing it's not too large.
Put mp3's in the "Media" folder on the transflash, not the "Music" folder.

CDEX will rip any CD to mp3 (free) and Super video converter (also free) will convert the mp3 to aac (smaller file size, same quality).
Super will convert any avi or mpg to 3gp or 3g2 format to use as video ringers, or you can load video clips converted to 3gp onto the Media folder of the transflash (great for music videos).
