A900 on Verizon's network..

Hey,

what are the chances one can get the Sprint A900 to work with Verizon?

I know by defaut everyone here will say no and flames will start pouring down like water onto a forest fire, but these requests of "will ______ work with _____" are nothing new here so when I bring mine fourth, enterain it with atleast ideas on what would need to be done to get it to work. Does Samsung sell the phone unbranded? Thanks

Technically it could work but you would have to go into the phone's programming and change the NAM settings, problem is getting the right codes, also the phone would need to be flashed with Verizon's software which is something they will not do.

Well... I hear the "Verizon's Software" phrase everytime this type of topic is brought up, but do you know exactly what this software is/what it does, and does it vary from phone to phone? or can it be copied from a similar phone?

It's called "Firmware" and yes, it varies from phone to phone. The flash file CAN be coppied from the same phone, but im not sure what software to use it on Samsungs, only Motorola. Although, you need to FLEX a phone to do so... and it would have to be unlocked too...

Okay, not to bugg but I tried searching the forum, but I am wondering what FLEX-ing a phone is. Is that similar to unlocking them?

Flexing and seem editing is not for beginners and it's mainly for GSM phones, read through these links so that you can get an idea of what it is and how it works.

Re: A900 on Verizon's network..

My gosh. Hassle it would be and unworth it if I had to puchase the phone retail.

Are there any rough diamonds that can be easily used with verizon that can be had for cheap? Just wondering, cellular technology is starting to interest me but my A670 isn't very hackable. Can't even put programs or games on it unless they're downloaded directly from Get It Now
