Factory reset?

Could somebody tell me how I can restore the factory settings on Samsung SCH-T300 (Verizon CDMA)? Do you have to know the lock code? ( I don't). Is there some way I can get around that?

Thanks.

Re: Factory reset?

The master reset should be in the settings. This will completely wipe out all of the information on the phone and start it fresh...like doing a low level format on a computer. If you can find the master reset, enter all zeroes for the password and it will reset the phone.

Re: Factory reset?

Exactly. It'll be in the phone settings under "master reset" or "master clear". The password will either be 0000, 000000, 1234, or 123456

Re: Factory reset?

Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately, there is no reset option under the "Set Up" menu. It must be under "Security" which is password protected, and it's not 0000, 1234, etc. I'm guessing I'm probably out of luck. (It's my friends old phone, and he does not know the password anymore).

Re: Factory reset?

Try the last four digits of the phone number for the lock code. The "master reset" code should be all zeroes. That's not something he would have been able to change.

Re: Factory reset?

I tried the last 4 digits of the number as well, no go. I was hoping there was some technicial trick to circumvent it, but hey, the thing is an antique anyway.

It's very used. It was my friends, and before that his dads, and no one remembers the password.

Re: Factory reset?

I did a google search and this is what I found:

http://www.samsung.com/Products/Mobi...files/t300.pdf

The default lock code for your phone is the last four digits of your
phone number. You can enter a personal lock code or change the
lock code as often as you like.
To enter a new lock code:
1. Press to display the menu.
2. Press for Security.
3. Enter your current lock code.
4. Press for Lock Code.
5. Enter a new 4-digit lock code by pressing the numeric keys.

The Reset option resets the phone and returns all options to the
factory default settings. All your Personal settings (Phone Book, Voice
Dial recordings, Messages, and Calendar) are not affected by
resetting your phone.
To reset the phone:
1. Press to display the menu.
2. Press for Security and enter your current lock code.
3. Press for Reset Phone. A confirmation displays explaining that
you will reset the phone to factory defaults.
4. Press to reset the phone
5. Press to cancel the operation.
6. The phone resets and restores the default settings, erases your
messages and then returns to standby mode.
