A900, thought it was an mp3 player

ok so i have my new phone, got it monday, i got the cable hooked up and im trying to transfer some of my mp3s to it, they are on there, only i cant figure out how to play them or where to same them.

Does the phone play mp3s or not?

if so how? or where do i save them?
