Sync A707 stereo headphone adapter does not work

I have two new Syncs with AT&T and they work great except that an aftermarket headphone adapter (Samsung does not make one) that I purchased online locks up the phones controls while it is plugged in. I want to use the adapter with my Bose QC2 headset and the phone's mp3 player and this phone does not use the standard 3.5 mm plug. The music comes through OK but I cannot stop, pause, or control the phone in any way. Also, when I plug the adapter into the phone it starts dialing the last number I called. Bizarre at the least but not surprising with any new tech stuff. I tried 4 adapters with each of the two Syncs with the same result. Is there a setting I am missing? Any help would be appreciated.

I am having problems with my headphone adapter as well but a different symptom. I plug my adapter into my phone but nothing happens, the music continues to play through the phones speakers and not redirected into my headphones. I've gone through all of my phones options but I have yet to see anything that would help to fix my problem. Sin Palabras, how did you get yours to play through your headphones?

The adapter I purchased never worked and I got a refund. Three of them actually all from the same source. I ordered another from a different vendor it it has worked just fine for several months. Its probably not your phone but the adapter which may not be made exactly to the right specs. I am pretty sure the one that did work I bought from Eforce City on EBay. Good luck.

I talked to a Samsung sales rep just a little while ago, and he told me that because Samsung doesn't support the after-market adapters, the software on the phone itself isn't compatible with device. They want you to buy the headphones that are specific to the phone, which in my opinion is bull. They should make a first-party adapter so we can use the headphones we already own with no issues attached. Sin - have you spoken to anybody that has an aftermarket adapter and isn't having any problems?

Yes, in my earlier reply I mentioned that I purchased an adapter that works just fine from Eforce City on Ebay. They have then now for 99 cents and $3 shipping, pretty cheap and they work fine. Funny but the Samsung customer service people told me exactly the same thing. Its not true. I use both an iPod earbud set and a Bose Quiet Comfort with the adapter I have and they both work fine. I think you just got a bum adapter. As I said earlier, I had purchase one that did not work and when I complained the seller sent me two more new ones with the same effect. They gave me a refund, so there was no harm. I bought the one from Eforce and that worked great. There are some now on eBay from this seller and also accstation. Both should work fine.

Oh ok, I understand now. Thanks for your help. I guess I'll buy from Eforce City, since they seem to be reliable based off of what you said. I just wish I could respond to your first post with some helpful information, sorry, but again thanks for your help.
