help with puk code

ok, I have a sync now and I tried to lock the phone and suddenly it asked for the puk code which I dont know and I couldnt exit out of it so I cut my phone off and when I cut it back on it asked for the puk code again and i dont know it so can someone help me with this.

puk code is given with the SIM card, you have to dealed with your plan supplier

ok so how do I get my phone to start working again, and what is usually the default code or does the operater have a code in it already
