T319 data cable

Hey guys, I followed your link in the sticky and bought this data cable for my (t-mobile default) t319: USB Data Cable For Samsung t209, t319 - Data Cables.

When I pop it in, however, it is NOT plug and play. As a matter of fact, my computer (windows XP) didn't even recognize a new device when I plugged it in.

I downloaded the manufacturer's software, but it didn't work. I'm thinking that I need the drivers or something probably?

Could anyone point me in the right direction?
