The u740 isn't intended to play music.
Go to your menu, Go to tools, Push pound, type "000000" go to MP3 and it will allow your u740 to play mp3's. I modded mine a while back so I don't remember exactly what happens. You need a MicroSD card and it will create an mp3 directory on that, then simply move your music into the MP3 folder.
