strange display

Hi Folks and greetings from Iowa still digging out from the flood.
I sure hope someone can tell me what happened to my cell phone. I had just finished speaking with my son on my Samsung (USCELLULAR) phone and when our call had ended this strange image came up on my display. It looks like a tornado but the top section looks like a flying saucer. It covers about half of the middle section. I have a full battery and good reception. I've had cell phones for quite a few years but have never had anything like this. If someone could explain the anomaly to me I would be very appreciative, If you can tell me how to fix it I would be very grateful.
