Trying to clear memory from a SCH-U410

My friend gave me his sch-u410 but I want to clear everything off of it. I couldn't find out from the manual so now I'm here.

Also, the phone is still active (connected to a phone number) that my friend never uses. Is it possible to clear the phone of the Esn (i think that's what it is).
So that I can activate it with my Verizon account?
