Samsung Gravity: Is the AIM client like the sidekick's?

Hi, I was just curious about the AIM on the Samsung Gravity.
When you're signed on to aim, do you come up as "mobile" like on most cell phones or is it like real on on the sidekick?
Also, can you see other people's away messages and things like that?
