Help with samsung rant!!

I Have A Samsung Rant But Cant Put Ringtones.
My Family Gets Theres From My Myxer But I Cant because I Dont Have Internet
And Other Sites That I Tried Need Internet Too PLEASE HELP ME!

hmm. there seems to be quite number of people having problem with Rant.isn't it possible to make the mp3 as ringtone?

Not at the moment. There are ways around it though. You have to convert the mp3 to a 3g2 file and place it in the folder DCIM/100SSMED. Then you can assign the ringer by going to Settings/Sounds/Ringer Type/Incoming Calls/With Caller ID/My Videos/file name

Hi I just got a rant. I got a converter on my mac and I made a mp3 to a 3gp file and emailed it myself, but can't use it. After rereading the post here, do I have to manually move th files to the Micro sd card? I want to change my email/text message sound effect. Thank you.

EDIT: Had friend email me some pictures. One was 363KB and the others 150 or less. I can't download and view the bigger one, but my camera can take 500KB plus pics and I view them. Kind of weird. I know i didn't get a blackberry, didn't want one, but this limit is kind of silly. Thanks.

Not sure about the picture problem as I am learning as I go with the Rant

The method I desrcibed was just one way to assign ringers or video ringers to incoming calls. As far as assigning to message tones, not gonna work. Sign up at myxerdotcom, which is free btw!!! I have downloaded many different sounds for different people, text tones and message alerts. They send a text message with a link to download to your phone. Yoou can even upload and make your own ringtones, tones and wallpapers. Check it out!

Ah ok, cool. I will do that and upload my sound. Really irritating these companies lock phones down. But oh well.

The email issue is in the software. I can take a picture on my phone, and then when I attach it, it will send, but the email application will not view it saying it is either corrupt or to big. I think Samsung needs to revamp that application pronto on that error as the last time it happened, I took a photo and email to my friend. She got it but in the email application I couldn't view the file but could attach and send it.

There are "people" out there whose sole purpose is to, "work around" software issues. There are those that work for Samsung and will (hopefully) eventually release software updates, and then there are those that don't work for Samsung that will release software work arounds....

I know that the Rant has issues when dealing with multimedia (pics, music, vids) over 516Kb. Will the day come when this is no longer an issue? I truly hope so. I believe the Rant has so much more potential than what we are given as of yet.

Do you know of a way to SELECT and DELETE all the text in an email body?

I just got the rant phone and have the same problem but i got one of the techs to tell me that he had a phone that had the same problem and he found that he could use postringers.com and it tricked the phone some how into thinking it was a sprint ringtone. i have not tried it yet cause it is one of the site you have to pay $10 a month for but you do get unlimited downloads. i would like to know if it works if anyone has or does try the site. thanks and good luck

Ok I got the dang phone to select all the text, in the menu Clear showed up but for the love of God I can't make it do it gain. I can choke Sprint on this, as it should be easier.
